Arrival

[ It doesn't take long for Akira to register what kind of place he's been tossed to. He hasn't even really gotten settled into the Barge yet, and now this new ship is actually worse. Sure, the sentencing on the sheet is a lot more straightforward than what getting off the Barge entails, but what is that worth surrounded by bars and chains and with every last dreg of power locked down?

Sentencing. Akira smiles but it's more like baring his teeth, sharp with fury. ]

What self-righteous bullshit.


Cell Block Tango - closed to Akechi

[ Akira is incredibly offended but not actually surprised by the prisoner rooms. Apparently his is defaulted to the cell unless whoever his fucking Advocate is changes it. Plus it's attached to their room. The memories are stifling; the cot, the bars. The only saving grace is there's no blue light, no executioner's tools right outside.

He slams the side of his fist against the connecting door. It's aggressive as hell, but still technically knocking. ]


Local teen hates everything

[ He hates this place! A lot! So Akira starts making a problem of himself in pretty short order. Graffiti, bags or ropes with spots frayed to weakness, things broken where they won't cause problems for other Prisoners. Advocates are fair game there, though. Can this get him in trouble?

Probably. But like the Disney movie said, "You're only in trouble if you get caught". A lot of his stealth tricks need powers, but not all of them. Akira's a past master of looking like he's never done anything wrong in his life, for one thing.

And he's looking for whoever else here might be interested in making the Establishment's day a little more terrible. ]

Local adult hates things too!

[Larkin may not be the best at stealth, but he can see things no one else can. Even without his scope. So he notices the sudden appearance of graffiti, often near where a new kid was not long before. He'll give him points, though, he never sees him actually paint anything.

He sidles up to the kid in the yard, though, and murmurs:]

Making a little chaos, kid?

Not if nobody can prove it. That's the rule here, right?

[ Akira is just as quiet but that doesn't take away from the vicious pleasure in his tone. ]

[Larkin grins.]

Oh, yes it is. You're a fast learner.

[overconfidant]

I like keeping all my bits attached, what can I say?

[ Akira gives a wry half-smile, glancing at some of the Prisoners that have caught the nastier punishments. ]

[mad_larkin]

Smart, especially in a place like this. What'd a kid like you do to end up here?

[overconfidant]

Short version? Vigilante, escaped police custody, may or may not have overthrown the Prime Minister. I didn't get to see how that last one turned out.

[ He sounds disappointed at the last bit. He is, in fact, disappointed about it. Akira wanted to see that bastard crash and burn. ]

That's too bad. Seeing the end result is the best part.

[For most things, anyway.]

It can be. But mostly I want to be sure the end result happened. Something was interfering.

[ Akira makes a face, carefully not thinking too much on what had been interfering and how that had gone. ]

[mad_larkin]

Oh. Politics? Faction wars?

[That's all things he stayed well out of. It's far beyond his pay grade.]

[ This does not look like the face of someone who's joking. ]

How does a cup menace anything? Or have delusions?

I would love to know, believe me. It's a weird magic thing.

[ It's probably a weird cognition thing but magic is a more accessible concept. ]

[mad_larkin]

Magic. Hmph. Always causing trouble.

[Though the only magic he's ever seen is what the enemy uses to try to win battles, so he's probably biased.]

It can come in handy when it's on your side, but yeah. It was causing me a lot of trouble right before I died.

[ Trouble is a kind and understated word for it, but there are things he tries very hard not to think about from right before he died. ]

You use magic, too?

[overconfidant]

I used to. Sort of? It's complicated. There were special conditions. Not that any of us can use special abilities on this stupid ship, anyway.

[mad_larkin]

Which is too bad. Things'd be different if people had powers. Better, maybe.

[More interesting, definitely.]

[overconfidant]

Yeah. It'd be a fairer fight, that's for sure.

That's probably why the Judge takes them all away.
